Mother’s Day Photoshoot on Hutchinson Island | Cassidy’s Family

During the same week as Mother’s Day, Cassidy reached out to me to arrange this Mother’s Day photoshoot on Hutchinson Island. She mentioned they would be staying at a friend of her mother’s house that day and they would like to capture this moment in their lives, what better way than with a family photo session.

The day started wonderfully. The sky was clear, barely any wind, the water looked calm although with good waves. The scenery around the House of Refuge is breathtaking. Practically surrounded by water, with large rocks emerging from the sand and sculpted wave by wave. With these ingredients, plus the sunrise with the sun filtered by the clouds on the horizon, we began this Mother’s Day photoshoot on Hutchinson Island.

Cassidy, her mother, and her sister, as she mentioned, were staying for a few days in this little paradise we have in Florida. She told me that as a family of four, they used to take trips to Florida every year until 2005 when they became a family of three. After a decade of short visits between Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Utah, and New York; they were finally back on the Atlantic Ocean in Florida together. “What better way to celebrate the woman who made this all possible?” she said.

Finally, she added a sentence that touched my soul: “we have learned from our mother a love that brings you into this world and follows you wherever you go.” And now, I am left speechless.
