Senior portraits at Harbourside with Britni in Jupiter

Britni’s senior portraits at Harbourside in Jupiter took place on a warm winter day. Since she liked the urban look of Harbourside Place, we ventured around some of my favorite spots. In fact, the buildings and walkways always offer great character and perfect backgrounds for photos.

Also, just up the road is a beautiful and historic 1915 FEC train depot at Sawfish Bay Park. Once a stop on Henry Flagler’s famous railroad, this historic building was moved in 2012 to its current location, not far from where it originally stood. Besides, the building itself tells the story of its many changes. With that amazing yellow color, it was a bright and energetic place to finish Britni’s senior portraits at Harbourside, just as the sun was coming up.

I feel like the school year is flying by, and graduation will be here before you know it! All the best, Britni!

About Harbourside Place

Harbourside Place is a waterfront spot on the Intracoastal Waterway in downtown Jupiter, with shops, restaurants, a boardwalk and colorful buildings. As a result, it’s my favorite location for seniors who want an urban, editorial look instead of the beach.

Moreover, just a short walk away, the historic yellow FEC train depot at Sawfish Bay Park adds a completely different backdrop. In one session, we can go from teal walls and columns to stone walls, palm trees and that bright yellow wood.

Tips for senior portraits at Harbourside

  • Book an early morning. Harbourside is quiet before the shops open, so we have every corner to ourselves.
  • Bring two looks. For example, a flowy dress for the boardwalk and a more casual or edgy outfit for the depot.
  • Choose bold or patterned outfits. Unlike the beach, urban backgrounds love color and texture.
  • Wear comfortable shoes between shots. We walk around a lot, so you can change into heels just for the photos.
