Family Photo Session at Dubois Park | Laura’s Family

At the beginning of this month of April 2024, I conducted this family photo session at Dubois Park. Laura and her family came for a few days of vacation and wanted to create memories in this beautiful town in southern Florida. Here in Jupiter, we have a beautiful park at the banks of the Loxahatchee River that is very popular. Overlooking the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, this park welcomes many visitors every day. And in the middle of the park, almost unnoticed on a mound, is the Pioneer House, a very beautiful old wooden house where we began our shoot.

Laura arrived with her partner, daughter, and son. I loved that the first thing her daughter did was give me instructions. “Hello, you’re the photographer and you’re going to do this, this, and this…” I loved it; that promised something interesting. We started by posing seated so that the children could get comfortable with me and the camera. Her daughter did her best to cooperate, while the boy did his own thing. At first, he was very serious, but then we found the trick to make him laugh in the photos. It was really cool to do this photo shoot; I felt very comfortable with them during this family photo session at Dubois Park in Jupiter. Finally, we ended up heading to the little beach near the river mouth where the low tide had provided a large expanse of sand. The kids got tired of posing, started playing, and, oh my, they made a mess in the water.
