What a perfect morning for a beach family session! First of all, the ocean was calm, and the sky was soft and pastel, so it matched their outfits perfectly. On top of that, how gorgeous and sweet is this family? It was an honor to take their family photos at Juno Beach Pier, one of my favorite places around Jupiter. In fact, the sand is always beautiful here, and the pier adds depth to every image. That’s why it’s a photographer’s dream beach. So here are some of my favorite photos from this fun morning.

About Juno Beach Pier

Juno Beach Pier is a 990-foot fishing pier on Ocean Drive in Juno Beach, just south of Jupiter. In fact, it’s one of the longest piers on Florida’s Atlantic coast. Because the beach faces east, the sun rises right over the ocean. As a result, it’s one of the best spots in the area for sunrise family photos.

However, the beach gets busy later in the day. By mid-morning, walkers, surfers and fishermen fill the sand, especially on weekends and during the winter season. For that reason, a weekday sunrise is the best choice if you’d like a calmer beach.

Good to know

Tips for family photos at Juno Beach Pier

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early. The best light actually starts before the sun appears on the horizon.
  • Wear soft, coordinated colors. For example, white, beige, light blue and pastels glow in the sunrise light. Also, avoid logos and busy patterns.
  • Bring a towel. Little ones always end up in the water, and some of the best photos happen right there.
