When I left my house that morning and looked at the sky, I thought I wouldn’t be able to carry out this maternity photoshoot at Juno Beach pier. It was very cloudy, the wind was calm, and it had recently rained. As I drove to the pier, I realized that if it looked bad, it was getting worse. When I parked, I didn’t have much hope of being able to do it, but just before starting, everything changed.
There, waiting for me, were Sofiya and her husband. She was dressed in white, with a belly of several months’ gestation. Two smiles that greeted me as soon as they saw me, and with that, this maternity photoshoot at Juno Beach Pier began. When we went down to the beach, the clouds on the horizon acted as a filter, reducing the intensity of a rising sun that was appearing over the ocean. The moment was overwhelming, magical.
Sofiya and her husband let me do everything. I made the poor woman walk a lot (I’m sorry). Between smiles and knowing glances, they told me how they met and shortly after got married. I love those stories where from the first moment you know the other person is the right one.
