During the 2023 holiday season, Amy contacted me for her family photoshoot at Juno Beach Pier. I know it’s tough to get up early for a beach photoshoot at sunrise, but the results speak for themselves.

The day dawned somewhat cloudy, with strong winds and high waves. However, the colors we were about to see would be captivating. Minutes before the sun emerged from behind the clouds on the horizon, Amy arrived with her family. They posed mostly together. I also took individual photos of her and her partner, but the ones I’m sharing here today are of the whole group. In fact, this is the kind of relaxed session I aim for with all my family photos in Jupiter.

I loved seeing them all united and working together to make this family photoshoot at Juno Beach Pier perfect despite the weather. The wind was blowing strongly, and the waves almost carried us out to sea. Even so, we managed to capture beautiful family photos on the beach. Thank you very much, Amy and family. Why Juno Beach Pier is great for a family photoshoot

Juno Beach Pier is a 990-foot fishing pier on Ocean Drive in Juno Beach, just south of Jupiter. In fact, it’s one of the longest piers on Florida’s Atlantic coast. Because the beach faces east, the sun rises right over the ocean. As a result, it’s one of the best spots in the area for sunrise photos.

However, the beach gets busy later in the day. By mid-morning, walkers, surfers and fishermen fill the sand, especially on weekends and during the winter season. For that reason, a weekday sunrise is the best choice if you’d like a calmer beach.

Tips for your family photoshoot at Juno Beach Pier

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early. The best light actually starts before the sun appears on the horizon.
  • Book before the holidays. November and December are the busiest months, so it’s best to reserve your date early.
  • Coordinate colors. For example, blues, whites and beiges look beautiful together and work with any sky.
  • Don’t fear the wind. Windy, cloudy mornings often give the most dramatic skies and colors.
