Senior portraits at Juno Beach Pier with Adam, baseball player

Last October, I had the opportunity to photograph these senior portraits at Juno Beach Pier. Adam and his mother traveled from Washington state for some baseball tryouts. So, at dawn on a cloudy and rainy day, we met at the pier to take these senior portraits.

Adam was very pleasant and natural at all times. In fact, I still remember how excited he was to go compete at Roger Dean Stadium with his baseball team. I feel like the school year is flying by, and graduation will be here before you know it! Adam, I hope you like your senior portraits at Juno Beach Pier. All the best! If you’re planning senior pictures in Jupiter, I’d love to help you choose the perfect spot.

Why Juno Beach Pier is great for senior portraits

Juno Beach Pier is a 990-foot fishing pier on Ocean Drive in Juno Beach, just south of Jupiter. In fact, it’s one of the longest piers on Florida’s Atlantic coast. Because the beach faces east, the sun rises right over the ocean. As a result, it’s one of the best spots in the area for sunrise photos.

However, the beach gets busy later in the day. By mid-morning, walkers, surfers and fishermen fill the sand, especially on weekends and during the winter season. For that reason, a weekday sunrise is the best choice if you’d like a calmer beach.

Tips for senior portraits at Juno Beach Pier

  • Bring your sports gear. For example, a jersey, bat, glove or ball tells your story better than any pose.
  • Plan two looks. A casual outfit and your team uniform give you two very different sets of photos.
  • Don’t cancel because of clouds. Cloudy mornings give soft, even light that’s very flattering for portraits.
  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early. The best light actually starts before the sun appears on the horizon.
